Special gifts for Mother’s Day (Plus: pick out a free card with gift!)

You love your mom and you want to be sure she knows it! Tiny’s got some great picks in store for moms who deserve something really special.

Here are our picks for Mom:

Possum Umbrellas hide a tuckable shopping tote

Give the umbrella she’ll never leave home without. Locally designed, a Possum Umbrella is more than just a pretty brolly. Each one comes in a zipper pouch that also hides a lightweight shopping tote. When the tote is unfolded the umbrella zips back into the bottom of the tote. This beautiful and practical gift is just $35 in store (all prices include tax).

Twig Prints

Use one of our handmade Twig Prints linen catch-alls ($30) as a cachepot for a flowering house plant for a more sustainable alternative to a traditional bouquet.

Beautiful Project calendar

Pick up a perpetual calendar to track all the family birthdays and anniversaries. The Beautiful Project’s Dutch Anniversary Calendar ($20) shows two months’ worth of important dates at a time to make it easy to keep track of important annual events.

Black Drop Designs

Jewelry is a classic gift, and a mom can never have too many shiny things. Wow her with Black Drop Designs’ ethereal photo jewelry featuring trees, crows and other imagery inspired by nature. Earrings are just $20 and pendants (on a silver chain) are $32.

Element Botanicals

Indulge her with a gift from Element Botanicals’ all-natural bath & body care line. Mothers-to-be would love an Aches Away gift set ($42) including a mineral bath soak and Aches Away massage cream. For bonus points, include one of our aromatherapy Bubu Bags ($30), scented with lavender and peppermint essential oils. Keep the Bubu Bag in the freezer for use as a cold pack or zap it in the microwave when heat’s the cure for what ails.

Plus, from now until Mother’s Day, if you buy a gift valued at $25 or more Tiny will give you a free card of your choice made by B.C. design powerhouses Regional Assembly of Text, The Beautiful Project or Leah Schell Illustration.

Choose a gift that’s locally made with love.

XOXO

What is Tiny?

“The newest addition to the River Market at Westminster Quay is tiny in name but huge in its mission.” — The Royal City Record, “Tiny store with a big heart: Locally grown and produced products are on offer at new shop at River Market.” Published March 12, 2011

“‘We wanted to pay special attention to each material we were using, in the same way that Tiny Eats pays special attention to each of the products it sells. Our goal was to use everyday materials composed in a way that is unexpected and special.’” — Tiny Goods’ store designer Marianne Amodio, quoted in framemag.com

“The interior architecture of TINY reflects the store’s local, handmade aesthetic by taking everyday building materials and turning them into functional art. The ubiquitous wood pallet forms the ceiling and the walls: lovingly hand selected one by one from the pallet farm on Mitchell Island and hung with care on a bright pink wall and lit by handmade Edison bulbs. The humble pegboard display is given its proper credit, backlit and flanked by cork topped shelves. Cork, wood pallets, pegboard, plywood, light bulbs, nails and twine: everyday materials composed in a way that is unexpected and special: that’s the TINY way.” — Marianne Amodio Architecture Studio
